Entree prices range from the mid 20s to the mid 30s and are well worth it, considering that it's a full meal, not just an entree. The Red Pheasant is our dependable go-to place for a great meal, for an anniversary or before a show at the nearby Cape Playhouse.

The Red Pheasant just celebrated their 40th anniversary. This is quite an achievement in the restaurant world today and a testimonial to its quality. Having the owners on site as chef and greeter(wife, Denise) means a lot and has contributed to the success of this quaint, comfortable restaurant.
Can't say enough nice things about this place. Great atmosphere, ended up being able to get a table right next to the open fire. Food and service were equally phenomenal. Will definitely return and hopefully save room for dessert.
Delightful restaurant. Service was good. Loved the gruyere puffs. I had the vegetarian option which was asparagus and lime risotto. It was quite tasteless but very green. Companion's steak was perfect he said. Friend,'s pork was good. Chicken a tad dry. Great ambience though
We were seated in the garden room, overlooking the herb garden, where chef/owner, Bill Atwood grows the herbs he cooks with.
Very much enjoyed cocktails and dinner in a party of 6. Bartendress Carol was efficient and friendly. Server Paul handled dinner in fine fashion. Food and wines were very good. Nice atmosphere.
Eating here is a fine dining experience, meaning that our dinner on a Saturday evening took about 80 minutes with no appetizer or dessert. Just plan accordingly.
My wife enjoyed her duckling, a boneless half breast that was nicely browned and served with a cranberry port wine sauce. No fat or grease was evident in this excellent presentation.
Affordable gourmet experience in an historic 200 year old building. Very pleasant, professional staff. Each entree is paired with an vegetable and potato or starch that complements it.
